Jared Shameless.“We The Kings interview – Summerfest 2013 Tour”. Online video. YouTube. YouTube, 13 August 2013. Web. 7 December 2015.

In the video, the singer of We The Kings talked about how they started releasing on single per month, but they still wanted to respect the idea of releasing full records, so they were going to release a full album soon. Part of the article is about how they decided not to have a label, and have their fans contribute to helping them make a new album. The reason for releasing one single about every month is also because they don’t have a label.

Part 2:

Speaker: The artist is Travis Clark, who also writes the songs with help from Sam Hollander and Dave Katz. Travis Clark is the lead singer for We The Kings, as well as the co-founder. He also has a youtube vlog, and posts a lot of things about his life.

Audience: Most people who listen to We The Kings are probably around my age. The intended audience is people who like rock music.

Media: My friend played the song “Check Yes Juliet” in his car one day, and I liked it and learned about the band. I did some researching and liked a couple of their other songs as well.

Content: The song is about the Travis’ relationship that is similar to Romeo and Juliet, in the sense that her parents don’t approve. The artist is literally talking about the relationship as being similar to Romeo and Juliet.

Occasion:

a) The particular event is the relationship that her parents don’t approve of.

b) I don’t think I would find a particular occasion to listen to this song, I think it’s kind of catchy and listening to it makes me feel happy.

Purpose: The artist’s intentions behind the song is to tell people to live their life how they want, and not let other people tell you how to live. The music is to entertain, but also for Travis to express how he feels about how people live.

Part 3

One of the interviews asked Travis about how he was bullied as a kid for having red hair. Travis responded by telling them that his music reflects that, and he tries to tell people to live how they want to live.
